WEEKLY UPDATES
Nikon D800/D800E Official launch date
Well after much speculation and teasing by our Nikon makers in Japan, the date has been set for the launching of the New DSLR from Nikon, the D800. Smaller and lighter than it's not too smaller brother, the D700, but in and of itself demands a different touch to the D700/D800 level.
The full name for this beast is now “Nikon D800 FX-format digital SLR camera” and it’s got 36.3-million pixels with EXPEED 3 image-processing engine and a 91K-pixel (approximately 91,000 pixels) RGB sensor. That’s some hot stuff right there. Nikon has released an official product page and the release and price at $2,999.99 for the body-only model in March, while the D800E will arrive in mid-April, priced at $3,299.99 (a buck more than the original was predicting, as it turns out). The D800E is an alternate model which gets rid of the low-pass filter and brings on higher-resolution shots. Choose your weapon!
Are you ready some PHOTOGRAPHY!

The Nikon D4 has arrived and just in time, my friends!!!
the D4 uses a 16.2 megapixel sensor ideal for capturing fast-moving subjects. The camera captures 11 frames a second, with an ideal ISO range of an incredibly low 50 to as high as 12,500, with boosts of up to 204,800. 51 points of auto-focus help you get your target sharp, and the D4 supports standard CF and the new QXD cards for photo storage.
Engadget discovered that the Nikon D4 and D800 will be available in France this March. The D4 will launch first on the 15th, followed by the D800 on the 22nd, and the D800E in April. Nikon PR later confirmed that the D4 will also be available in the U.S. sometime mid-March, but they did not give any confirmation for the D800 or D800E.
What is Exposure?
Exposure is the amount of light collected by the sensor in your camera during a single picture. If the shot is exposed too long the photograph will be washed out. If the shot is exposed too short the photograph will appear too dark. Almost all cameras today have light meters which measure the light in the given shot and set an ideal exposure automatically
The two primary controls your camera uses for exposure are shutter speed (the amount of time the sensor is exposed to light) and aperture (the size of the lens opening that lets light into the camera). Shutter speeds are measured in seconds and more commonly fractions of a second. (1/2000 of a second is very fast and 8′ seconds is extremely slow). Apertures are measured in something called f/stops (a very wide aperture is f/2.8 and a very small aperture is f/19).
Shutter speed for example can be used to freeze subjects in midair with a fast speed or it can be used to blur water with a slow speed.
Aperture controls the depth-of-field which is what is in focus in the picture. Aperture can be used to draw attention to one subject (like the flower on the right) by blurring the background with a wide aperture (low f/stop). Aperture can also be used to focus everything in a picture with a narrow aperture (high f/stop).
